last night was so fun! we got a nice spot up in front on of the stage, but a little to the left by the speakers. right in front of us was the back door where the talent enters from their tour bus.
first up was hailey steele, who was in a duo (the line) on christina aguilera’s team on the voice. she was so good! and was hanging out by us after her set while gloriana was playing. she said she googled the town the bar was in so she had some knowledge of where she was and who she was playing for. she was fun.
before gloriana came out, a woman came by us and was talking to people in the little ‘backstage’ area that was right in front of us. it turned out to be tom and mike gossin’s aunt, and she was really nice. i forget where she said she was from, but she wanted to say hi tom and mike before the show because it’s easter weekend and they’ll be on the road. i was like, girllll get me some time with them! lol jk. but when they came out, the guys saw her and tom winked and pointed at her as he passed (i mean, he was like ten feet in front of us, he could have come over), which would have been awesome because i was right next to her.
so they started playing, and we knew what they were gonna play already cause we saw the set list taped to the wall and my friend took a picture of it and zoomed in cause we were that close haha. gosh, i forgot how great they are live. also, considering how intimate the space was, we were just so close. they LOVE playing at this bar, it was their fourth time. they even said they should just build a little house in the parking lot for convenience. so many great acts have played there that are huge now, which is cool. gotta keep an eye out on who’s coming there now that i’m 21 and can get in. it was just so much fun.
except for the freaking photographer that worked for the place. i’m pretty sure the customer has priority and he kept blocking our view to take pictures. SO obnoxious. like, my friend was recording a song and the guy actually looked at her and then stood right in front of her to take more of the same damn pictures he was taking all night. so rude. luckily he got out of the way for the last four songs.
i want to upload my videos of ‘can’t shake you’ and their cover of ‘ho hey’ (SO fun), but i have already exceeded today’s limit with my videos of ‘wild at heart’ and ‘kissed you goodnight.’ i could probably just upload them all to youtube, but i’m lazy and forget my password.
we were gonna try to stay after because they were signing stuff at a table for anyone, but when we found out they weren’t taking pictures with anyone we just left. i’ve already met them and gotten their autographs so it wasn’t a big deal. plus it was late.
$20 for a damn good time! we’re going to go back there this summer and learn how to line dance because it looks like fun and it’s just the thing to do there.
